The Kurosawas | Ueda Family Portrait

I always enjoy going back to Japan. I would like to say that this country is my second home. Everything is so pleasant, the food, the culture, the people, everything. There’s always a new experience during my stay like for our feature today. The family portrait session of the Kurosawas. It is seldom for me to take family portraits, shoots like these are more challenging because of the uncontrollable nature of shooting the kids. It’s already hard to make one child sit still, make it three? Well you’re in for a treat. Hahaha! I particularly loved this shoot because it was something that really challenged me as photographer. Not only the kids were tough to handle but we also had a language barrier. The only nihonggo phrases I knew were “mite, mite” and “sumimasen” which means “look here” and “excuse me” hahaha! But even with all the hurdles on that day I really had fun taking photos of this sweet and happy family. With the mountain range and the foliage during autumn in Japan. It is something I’m looking forward to do again. Enjoy the photos. Location: Ueda, Japan
